BRIDGE HEIGHTS

Fast! Efficient! Safe!

Terrestrial Mobile LiDAR scanning (TMLS) collection system coupled with automated data extraction can process up to 40 bridges per day.

Accuracies of better than 1/2" for vertical clearances

Accurate data on vertical clearances of roadway structures is critically important in oversize route planning. Horizontal clearance measurements must also be maintained. Traditionally collecting this data can be dangerous or can cause congestion with work crews subject to significant traffic hazards. Work must be performed during available traffic breaks which can induce errors. From a system-wide perspective clearance information in many cases is incomplete, inaccurate, difficult to maintain and difficult to access. Obtaining survey grade accuracy at traffic speeds is the proven, most efficient way to accurately measure various structures and roadway features.

Deliverables:

  • latitude and longitude of bridge
  • bridge ID
  • data base for vertical clearance
  • horizontal clearance if needed
